Finding NCT’s 10th anniversary in Seoul takes more than one venue address.

The anniversary has already passed through Banpo Bridge’s Moonlight Rainbow Fountain and Seoul Fashion Week at Lotte World Mall. Around Seokchon Lake, the lighting ended on September 25, the art balloon remains through September 27, and NEO DIMENSION continues through October 18 inside Lotte World.

Put those pieces together and the anniversary looks less like one event than a route through the city.

The Celebration Runs on Several Different Clocks

The Banpo fountain program occupied September 1–5. NCT × Seoul Fashion Week followed at Lotte World Mall’s World Park from September 4–6.

Seokchon Lake stretches the project further: the east-side trail lighting covers September 3–25, while the art balloon remains part of the lake program through September 27.

NEO DIMENSION adds the longest single window, September 18–October 18 at Immersive Platform DEEP beside Lotte World’s ice rink.

The staggered dates are part of the design. Fans do not have to consume the anniversary as one festival day. Different pieces occupy different parts of Seoul across several weeks.

The Fan Experience Moves From a Destination to a Route

A concert has a simple geography: one ticket, one venue, one start time.

Banpo Hangang Park and Seokchon Lake work differently. They are already part of everyday Seoul—places for walking, dates, exercise, night views and casual tourism. Lotte World Mall is a commercial destination. Seoul Fashion Week belongs to the fashion industry but also needs a public audience.

NCT did not create these places. The anniversary temporarily adds a fandom layer to routes people already use.

The fan does not only arrive at an event. Moving through the city becomes part of the event.

That changes the scale of participation. Someone can encounter one element while already in Jamsil, return for the exhibition on another day, or build several NCT stops into a Seoul visit without ever treating the experience like a conventional concert schedule.

Seoul Fashion Week Shows Why This Is More Than City Promotion

Seoul Fashion Week expanded beyond its familiar DDP base to Lotte World Tower, bringing fashion, shopping and K-culture into the same public program.

NCT fitted naturally into that structure, but the partners do not need identical motives.

SM Entertainment has a 10th anniversary to make visible. Seoul Fashion Week wants a broader audience. Lotte’s Jamsil complex benefits when visitors stay, shop and move through the district.

The interesting part is not that these interests are secretly the same. It is that K-pop is flexible enough to sit at their intersection.

The group becomes more than something watched onstage. It can become a reason to walk through a fashion event, circle a lake, visit a shopping district or reserve an immersive exhibition.

This Is Not the Birth of K-Pop Fan Space

Fans have been writing themselves into Korean cities for years.

Birthday subway ads, café events, bus shelters, LED screens and pop-up routes already turn ordinary infrastructure into temporary fandom maps. NCT’s anniversary did not invent that behavior.

The difference is the coordination.

This is an official anniversary project overlapping with city-backed fashion programming, commercial venues and public attractions across multiple dates and locations.

Calling it a “Seoul takeover” would be louder than the reality. A more useful description is this:

NCT’s 10th anniversary uses Seoul as a distributed fan venue.

A concert concentrates attention into a few hours. This project spreads it across a city map.

The more durable point is narrower: K-pop fandom identity can now be mapped onto a real city through lighting, events, exhibitions and temporary visual signals. The fan experience is no longer limited to the arena or the object in a fan’s hand.

The distinction between venues matters. Banpo Hangang Park and the Seokchon Lake project involved public urban space and local-government cooperation; Lotte World is commercial space; Seoul Fashion Week operates through another partnership structure. It would therefore be too broad to say that “Seoul turned the whole city green for NCT.”

A color is useful because it can mark a place without turning every surface into a giant celebrity advertisement. Fans recognize the signal immediately, while other visitors can still experience the lake, fountain or shopping district as ordinary urban space.

The anniversary also shows why an official fandom color can work outside a concert hall. NCT’s bright green identity—officially called Pearl Neo Champagne—moved from lightsticks and fan goods into lighting around Seokchon Lake and other anniversary spaces.
